Web: Epson appoints Sizwe Africa as strategic partner

Epson has appointed Sizwe Africa IT Group, the largest subsidiary of JSE-listed ConvergeNet Holdings as a strategic partner to assist in expanding its presence into corporate SA.

Through this partnership, Sizwe IT has become an official Epson premier corporate reseller and accredited service provider.

Sizwe will deliver Epson's, a global leader in imaging products including printers, 3LCD projectors, small and medium-sized full range of business products to several large corporates throughout the country. As a service provider Sizwe will provide after-sales technical support directly to Epson customers.

Kelvin Reynolds, general manager for Epson Southern Africa said the company already had an established retail and consumer presence in the South African market, particularly in photo printing, desktop printing and home entertainment projector sectors.

“However, one of our key objectives for 2010 is to make a concerted push into the corporate sector where we believe we have a number of products and services specifically suited to small, medium and large enterprises alike.”

Reynolds said Epson had sought a partner that would be large and established enough to service its three key business foci, financial services, telecommunications and government.

Popular radio personality Tim Modise who is chief executive of Sizwe IT Group said Sizwe had decided to form a strategic alliance with Epson because of the potential of the brand and its products.

“Epson is one of the industry's best kept secrets, particularly in the business and corporate world and there is definitely a gap in the market for one of the country's large value-added IT companies to take this brand into corporate South Africa.”

Modise said Epson's extensive product range combined with the company's emphasis on eco-friendliness and after-sales service enabled Sizwe to design compelling, energy saving solutions to clients.

Sizwe Africa IT Group is the holding company of the Sizwe Group of Companies, consisting of Sizwe Business Networking, Smart Support Services, Sizwe Infrastructure and various other subsidiaries.
