Boks behaving badly

Kim Robinson|Published

The Springboks partied until the early hours of the morning during the week before their second Test match against France in Durban. The Boks won the match, but their performance was pitiful.

New captain Bobby Skinstad, who this week was named skipper, also joined in the fun.

French journalist Benoit Pensivy reported in a French weekly rugby newspaper that he ran into senior members of the Springbok team dancing and singing at the Wonder Bar last Tuesday night.

Pensivy reported that he saw players such as Joost van der Westhuizen, Thinus Delport, Skinstad, Percy Montgomery and Robbie Kempson partying it up at the popular night spot. Pensivy also said Delport admitted to him the next day that they had spent the night out and come back in the early hours of the morning.

And Pensivy isn't the only one who saw the players enjoying themselves.

A young woman reported that Butch James was seen at Night Fever at 3am on Wednesday, while another said other members of the team were at the Monkey Bar on Thursday.
