ENSURE Security's Urban Regeneration Teams foiled a robbery and assault that left one man injured in the Durban CBD in the early hours.

Shortly after midnight, the team noticed a group of men attacking a male victim at the intersection of KE Masinga and Khuzimpi Shezi streets.

The immediately alerted nearby tactical intervention units, prompting a swift response.

Within moments, the groups converged on the scene, leading to the arrest of four suspects, who were subsequently remanded into the custody of the SAPS for further investigation and processing, said Ensure in a statement.

In the aftermath of the incident, emergency services transported the victim to a local hospital, where he is receiving necessary medical care.

The prompt actions of the security teams highlighted the importance of vigilance and rapid response to crime in the area.

Commenting on Ensure's in maintaining safety within the Durban CBD, CEO Kyle Connoly stated: “This serves again to reiterate our commitment to zero tolerance on criminal activities in the Durban Central Business District.”

Connoly's remarks underscore the company's dedication not only to business safety but also to the overall security of the community.

He said that as urban crime continues to be a pressing concern in cities worldwide, the collaboration between private security firms and local police forces is proving to be an essential strategy in ensuring public safety.

"This incident serves as a reminder of the crucial role that vigilant security personnel play in protecting citizens, and thus creating a safer environment for all," said Connoly
