The Kardashians seem to be saying, "You thought we were finished?" It's clear that when this family is involved, their reality TV presence continues relentlessly.
Just when we thought we’d reached the end of the KUWTK spin-off universe, Khloé Kardashian pops out with her own new reality series. And honestly? We didn’t ask for it but they’re giving it to us anyway.
To be fair, Khloé has been on a bit of a solo glow-up mission over the past few years. She's bounced back from public heartbreaks that would’ve made most of us delete Instagram and move to a farm.
But not Khloé. Sis stayed on screen, stayed snatched, and now she’s ready to serve us Calabasas chaos on a silver platter.
Speaking at Hulu’s "Get Real House" panel, she confirmed her latest TV venture: “It's very exciting, very new, very excellent,” she said. “We're excited to continue developing.”
Of course, TV sells, and the Kardashians know it like they know their lighting angles. This new series marks three years since the fam premiered their Hulu show "The Kardashians", which - tea time - has reportedly seen a drop in viewership.
But why let a ratings slump stop the empire? If anything, it seems to have pushed them into new territory… or, in this case, into the neighbours' houses.
Khloé’s new series is diving into the private lives of the people who live behind the gates of Calabasas, that iconic, ultra-rich bubble where the Kardashians brunch, bicker, and build businesses.
Disney reality chief Rob Mills stated that they are developing a show, currently titled "Calabasas Behind the Gates", because of public interest in the lives of the people connected to the Kardashians in Calabasas.
He noted the widespread curiosity about what happens behind the gates of the area and the individuals in the Kardashians' extended circles.
Granted, maybe some of us were curious. But did we need a full show about the side characters in their lives? Debatable. Still, Khloé's no rookie in the solo-show game.
She gave us "Revenge Body" in 2017; a glow-up show where she helped people channel heartbreak into hotness. It had heart, it had abs, and it made us root for her all over again.
As for the rest of the Kardashian crew, will Kris be micromanaging from the shadows? Will Kim pop in to discuss SKKN with the neighbours? Will Rob appear for more than five minutes without vanishing? Khloé isn’t saying.
Scott Disick, who joined her at the event, also stayed zipped about any involvement. But come on. This family never moves solo for long.
We’ve seen them do it all together: "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," (the OG of it all) "Kourtney & Kim Take Miami," "Life of Kylie," "Khloé & Lamar," "Dash Dolls" (yes, that happened).
A million brand deals, fragrance launches, makeup lines, clothing collabs – all stamped with the Kardashian family seal of hustle.
They know how to tag-team fame. And even if this show starts with Khloé, don’t be surprised if Kendall’s walking through a scene, or Kris is setting up a lunch meeting for a neighbour-turned-potential-brand-ambassador.
So, whether you're hate-watching, curious, or genuinely here for Khloé's solo era, "Calabasas Behind the Gates" is on its way. And with this lot, there’s bound to be drama, designer outfits, and someone crying over an iced matcha.
Because if there’s one thing this family is going to do, it’s monetise their inner circle and let us all watch from the sidelines.
