Singer Halle Bailey has formally filed for a temporary restraining order against her former partner, rapper DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.

The legal action comes just over six months after the couple announced their split, during which they welcomed their 19-month-old son, Halo.

The 25-year-old Bailey, known for her role in Disney's "Little Mermaid", has alleged various forms of abuse in the court documents obtained by PEOPLE. In a heartfelt declaration, she expressed, “I cannot allow this abuse any longer,” highlighting the emotional turmoil she has endured.

Bailey detailed disturbing accusations against DDG, claiming that he has been leveraging his substantial follower base to spread misinformation about her.

“Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts badmouthing me to his several millions of fans,” she stated, asserting that he has falsely accused her of withholding their son and dating other men.

This has led her to receive threats and bitter criticism on social media, further compounding her distress.

As evidence to support her claims, Bailey included photographs depicting her with a chipped front tooth and a significant bruise on her bicep. Additionally, she provided a screenshot of a text message she sent, pleading with DDG to stop harassing her.

This message revealed her desire for peace during what should have been a celebratory Mother’s Day.

Seeking full custody of Halo, Bailey indicated her intention to travel to Italy for two months to work on a film project, reassuring the court that she would be accompanied by family and a nanny to ensure the child's care during her absence.

In her legal request, she asked the court to restrain DDG from making any public comments about her or their son across his various platforms, including YouTube and TikTok.

“He is a YouTube and Twitch blogger and creates a fan frenzy by making false claims about me,”

Bailey wrote, asserting that his actions have engendered fear for her safety and that of their son. The hashtag #freehalo has emerged online, illustrating the public's engagement with the unfolding situation.
