Congratulations have been in order since the year began for many South African celebrities, and the latest to tie the knot is singer-songwriter Yanga Sobetwa. The singer wowed her fans with her wedding pictures on Instagram.

The winner of season 14 of "Idols South Africa" recently treated her fans with a glimpse into her special day, sharing pictures of her matrimony on Instagram.

The 24-year-old gospel and pop singer tied the knot on April 26 at the Matiki Wedding venue in Krugersdorp, a day after her birthday.

In a collaboration post with husband Ntsako Khoza, the two pictures shared showcased the couple beaming and radiating happiness as they basked in the joy of their new union. The second picture is a portrayal of the couple’s first kiss as newlyweds.

This announcement comes weeks after Sobetwa had recently shared news of her engagement, which took place in a private ceremony surrounded by loved ones and industry friends.

In a beautiful celebration of tradition and love, the artist’s partner paid lobola, a customary bride price, in a heartfelt ceremony that took place in December 2024, and, a year later, they have now solidified their union with a romantic white wedding.

As they begin their new life as husband and wife, fans and industry friends have flooded her comment section with congratulatory messages, showering the happy couple with love and well-wishes.

Singer and former Idols contestant @Lloyiso_rsa congratulated the couple, saying: “Beautiful! Congrats, guys.”

Gospel artist Dumi Mkokstad @dumi_mkokstadsa commented: “Congratulations sis 🙌.” and @colourme_sim said: “Ohhh my sissy, you looked so beautiful. Congratulations again, love, may God continue to bless you and your union ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

Known for songs such as “Ebenezar”, the singer rose to fame in 2018 after winning the reality show. She later released her debut album “Promised Land”, which features the Grammy-award winning Soweto Gospel Choir.

The album did well, charting number one on iTunes.

Sobetwa is not the only South African celebrity to tie the knot recently. Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi exchanged vows with Luthando Shonelo Bolowana in March, while radio personality Anele Mdoda got engaged in an intimate traditional ceremony in April.

Matrimonial energy is clearly in the air!
