Megan Thee Stallion takes a stand: confronting Tory Lanez supporters amid online harassment

Megan Thee Stallion, the Grammy-winning rapper known for her empowering anthems, has once again taken to social media to confront the ongoing controversy surrounding the shooting incident that left her injured in 2020. 

This time, her anger is directed at the burgeoning ‘Free Tory’ movement, a campaign advocating for the release of Tory Lanez, who was found guilty of shooting her and sentenced to ten years in prison in 2023. 

The recent revival of this campaign, which has garnered support from prominent figures including Drake and Chris Brown, has forced her to relive a traumatic experience she wishes to leave behind.

In a TikTok video, she expressed her frustration over the persistent online discussions and denials surrounding the case, particularly the resurfaced claims suggesting that Kelsey Harris, her former friend, was the actual shooter. 

“At what point are y’all gonna stop making me have to relive being shot by Tory?” she questioned, underscoring the emotional toll of continuously rehashing a painful chapter of her life. 

The rapper reminded her followers that this is not some fleeting internet rumour but a verified incident that was proven in court. 

“He didn’t get on that stand and deny it because he knows what he did,” she asserted, driving home the gravity of the situation.

The jury's guilty verdict against Lanez serves as a critical point of reference for the artist who is adamant about her truth in a world where doubt persists. 

“Why would I lie about this?” she challenged those questioning her narrative despite the judicial outcomes. 

With her attorney reiterating that the facts remain unchanged, she has made her feelings abundantly clear: the case was settled in a court of law. 

She conveyed her overwhelming desire for privacy and healing by stating, “Tory, please leave me alone. I’m off this silly ass internet sh#t. BYE.” This plea encapsulates her exhaustion and refusal to engage with the cycle of online harassment that has persisted for years."
