US actress Sydney Sweeney opened up about her split with her fiancé, Jonathan Davino, and confirmed that she’s now single.
After months of speculation about her engagement, “The White Lotus” actress shared for the first time that she’s no longer engaged.
Sweeney, who sells soap that contains a drop of her bathwater, was asked in an interview with “The Times” on May 31 if she was still planning her wedding. She replied, “No,” and when she was asked if she was single, she briefly replied, “Yes.”
She added: “I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it.”
The 27-year-old actress and Davino started dating in 2018 and got engaged in 2022.
However, early this year, rumours started swirling around after fans noticed that Sweeney had removed pictures of her and Davino on her Instagram account; she later posted pictures of herself without wearing her engagement ring.
A source also revealed that things had been rocky between Sweeney and Davino long before they ended their relationship.
During her split from Davino, Sweeney was embroiled in romance rumours with co-star Glen Powell after fans saw their chemistry while on a press tour for “Anyone But You”.
To add fuel to the fire, the "Euphoria" actress was seen attending a rehearsal wedding dinner for Powell’s sister, Leslie Powell’s wedding.
It was also revealed that the actress is actually good friends with Powell’s family, including Leslie.
However, during the interview, she did not address the romance speculations, but added that she and Powell adore each other.
“It’s always beautiful to see people fall in love with characters and be really supportive of stuff that they see on screen.
“Glen and I adore each other, so I think we were so happy for the reception of the film,” she added.
Sweeney continued to add that she and Powell are simply just there for each other.
