DJ and producer KMat, real name Koketso Reabetswe Mathabathe, has been confirmed the first global pass recipient, and one of the headlining speakers and DJ for the prestigious International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza.
This esteemed event brings together the world's top music executives, industry leaders, and artists to shape the future of electronic music. KMat received the news at a time when she had experienced a lot of blows and being selected affirmed her path.
She's looking forward to meeting other creatives and people who make the music and entertainment machine go round.
KMat's participation marks a significant milestone in her career and underscores the growing influence of African voices on the global stage.
"My growth is happening when the world is watching South Africa," says KMat about her global popularity.
She admits that the journey has been nerve-wrecking especially when it comes to looking for people to partner with and ensuring that these people are pure in intention and that having the surety that they will elevate her career.
"The fear of making a mistake at a pivotal career has honestly been the most challenging," she said.

The challenge went viral with it being performed across the country by her fans becoming quite the success. "I recently came across my tweet of the night of MKK’s and I honestly cannot believe that the hunger and all the crazy ideas I had to market the song, actually worked!
"It has taught me that I have all the tools to bring my dreams to fruition," reflected the DJ.
