Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter is turning heads with the announcement of her new single, "Manchild".

The "Espresso" hitmaker took to Instagram recently to tease her track, sharing a cheeky message that appears to be directed at her ex-boyfriend, Barry Keoghan.

"This one’s about you!!" she wrote in the caption. She also confirmed that the much-anticipated track will be released on Thursday, June 5.

The lead-up to the single features a vintage-inspired teaser video flaunting Carpenter's flair for retro aesthetics, with the star donning playful daisy dukes paired with classic platform shoes.

Fans eagerly awaiting the release were treated to snippets of the lyrics, including the notable line: "Inside of your head when you've just won an argument with a man."

Fans are now speculating about the meaning behind the song.

Comments poured in, ranging from "And we know who you are talking about diva" to "Clock that Barry boy!!!"

Another follower referenced Carpenter's previous hit, "Please Please Please", suggesting that the ex-boyfriend deserved this new lyrical rebuke because he didn’t heed her earlier calls for understanding.

Carpenter’s relationship with Keoghan began in December 2023. The couple made things official when they attended the Met Gala together in May 2024.

However, after just a year, the couple reportedly split in December 2024 amid reports of infidelity and heavy partying that surrounded the Irish actor.

Despite the accusations, reports online suggested that the challenges mainly stemmed from their misaligned schedules as Carpenter's career began to skyrocket, leaving little room for their relationship to grow.

"Sabrina was being pulled in so many directions," it read.

Reports indicated that the breakup was amicable, with no bad blood between the two, but it nonetheless left fans engrossed in the unfolding drama.

Interestingly, during a performance in Dublin back in March, Carpenter made light of her romantic history with Keoghan, jokingly commenting that “Irish boys are hard work."

During another interview, when asked about her relationship with Keoghan, she danced around the question, saying her songs may reveal more than she might be willing to openly share.

Now, as she prepares to drop "Manchild", the superstar seems set to reclaim her narrative and has already begun promoting the track with playful billboard ads across major US cities.

Phrases such as “I swear they choose me, I’m not choosing them” have sparked intrigue as to what the song will entail.

With high expectations following the success of her Grammy Award-winning single "Espresso", fans eagerly anticipate whether "Manchild" will join the group of summer anthems.
