"The Four Seasons" fans will get another chance to vacation with their besties when the series returns.

Netflix recently announced the renewal of the comedy, despite the show initially being a limited series.

After making its debut on May 1, the show quickly climbed to the top of Netflix's most-watched list, prompting a swift greenlight for more episodes just two weeks later.

The streaming giant teased this exciting news on Instagram, asking fans, "Who's ready for another vacation?"

Starring Tina Fey (Kate), Will Forte (Jack), Steve Carell (Nick), Kerri Kenney-Silver (Anne), Colman Domingo (Danny) and Marco Calvani (Claude), the series has captivated audiences with its relatable exploration of friendship and love in middle age.

Adapted from Alan Alda's 1981 romantic comedy of the same name, "The Four Seasons" follows six lifelong friends, three couples, who embark on a weekend getaway. However, the holiday takes a dramatic turn when one couple announces they are on the verge of splitting.

Co-creator Fey spoke about the theme of the show in an online interview stating: "We've talked about the show being a love letter to long-term relationships, both platonic and romantic. Sometimes when you are struggling with something with just your spouse, you need a group of friends to bring humour to it."

This witty and poignant examination of the highs and lows of close-knit friendships strikes a chord with viewers, earning its spot atop the viewing charts.

The first season concluded with a gripping cliffhanger, the death of Nick and the revelation of his girlfriend Ginny's pregnancy, however, there remains uncertainty about the direction of the upcoming season.

It's yet to be finalised whether the next season will continue the existing storyline or introduce a completely new cast and narrative as an anthology series.

Co-creator Tracey Wigfield mentioned that if they were to proceed with the same group, Ginny would play a significant role, forming connections with Anne as their children become siblings.

The early renewal excitement does come with one problem though: the A-list cast's demanding schedules could affect the production timeline.

Fey is currently busy executive producing "The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins", while Domingo is involved in numerous projects, including a much-anticipated Michael Jackson biopic.

As a result, fans may face a longer wait than desired for the next instalment of "The Four Seasons".
