Could "Where Are The Pots?" end up being South Africa’s social media theme of the year? It’s beginning to look like it.
An episode of SABC consumer rights show 'Speak Out' got viewers all excited - and left some in stitches - when a young lady Siyabonga Makhavhu "broke" English trying to explain what happened to the pots that they are looking for. Then the games began.
Soon after the episode, several memes, a “film” clip of Chuck Norris solving the mystery, and a song emerged online.
But the social media storm is far from over, with “music videos” and reenactments in several South African languages showcased the creativity and comedic talent of those who enjoyed milking the bizarre episode for all it’s worth.
