After a hiatus from June 2020, Lesego Marakalla returns to SABC 1’s “Skeem Saam” as she reprises her role as Rachel Kunutu.
‘Rachel Kunutu’, the original slay queen, the true pioneer of the soft life movement, abruptly returns to Turfloop after relocating for a few years.
Viewers know that where there is Rachel, drama is not far behind. Which begs the question, where has she been all this time?
Marakalla shared her excitement about her return; “It feels good to be back. It is not only about me but is also about my supporters who appreciate my craft.
“They have been asking me when I will be returning to ‘Skeem Saam’, and I'm happy to say that they will see me back on-screen playing Rachel very soon.”
Marakalla makes her screen return on June 10, 2025, and viewers will discover that she might have been mixing with the wrong company, pressuring her to associate with ‘Lord of the Flies’ (Archie Nhlapo) and ‘Ghost’, a shady new character that will be portrayed by multitalented South African rapper, songwriter and reality show presenter, Tshepo Howza Mosese.
The talented Mosese makes his screen debut on June 14, 2025.
Turf Talent Extravaganza founder and profitable printing company entrepreneur, Marothi Maphuthuma has been on a frantic search for Rachel, his estranged wife.
She had suddenly left him and Turfloop in 2020, but not without stealing a substantial amount of his wealth and then framing him for her “death” first.
Macks Senatla SaGa PAPO, who has for cultural and traditional purposes made a slight alteration to his name, will be back on screens from the 13th of June 2025. “I am very excited to be back, and I look forward to telling more compelling stories”, he said.
But now that his ‘Dynamite’, as he so passionately used to call her, has returned, we wonder what actions he will take.
