In a powerful statement on identity and self-acceptance, Vivian Jenna Wilson, estranged daughter of billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk, has made her modelling debut as part of a Wildfang clothing campaign, which launched on May 15.
The campaign, which focuses on the themes of identity and self-discovery, features Wilson, 20, in striking outfits that not only showcase her style but also convey a deeper message about representation within the fashion industry.
In a captivating image from her shoot, Wilson poses confidently in deep purple pants paired with a lavender shirt emblazoned with the provocative statement, "Existing shouldn't be revolutionary".
A second image reveals her on her knees, wearing a matching floral pantsuit with a tie, framed by vintage televisions that prominently display her name.
The campaign serves as an artistic celebration of both her identity and her advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community.
Wilson, who came out as transgender at the age of 16 and has been vocal about her journey since, has used her platform to advocate for trans rights and the importance of mental health for LGBTQ+ youth.
As part of her collaboration with Wildfang, she co-designed a special edition shirt, with all proceeds benefitting The Trevor Project, an organisation dedicated to suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ+ young people.
Emma McIlroy, CEO of Wildfang, expressed the brand’s commitment to authenticity and representation with Wilson’s involvement.
"Vivian represents everything we believe in: bravery, brilliance, and bold self-expression. This campaign gave us the chance to celebrate Vivian, her name, her power, her style, and the inspiration she provides to the queer community," McIlroy said in a statement.
The campaign’s message further encapsulates the importance of names and identities, heralding Wilson’s journey as "just the beginning".
Despite her father's public dissent against her gender identity, Wilson has found unwavering support from her mother, Justine Wilson.
In an interview with "NBC News", she has highlighted the positive impact her mother has on her life.
"She’s very supportive. I love her a lot."
In addition to her modelling work, the youngster has been actively engaged in advocacy efforts.
Most recently, she was spotted strutting down the runway at a "RuPaul’s Drag Race" event, showcasing her flair for performance as she vogued for the crowd.
Her growing platform has allowed her to raise awareness for the transgender community while publicly confronting her father's actions, calling him a "pathetic man child" in a "Teen Vogue" cover story.
