Denounced by KwaZulu-Natal education MEC Professor Gabriel Ndabandaba as a "pathological liar", a ministerial spin-doctor fired after allegations that he had falsified his qualifications is seeking a High Court order for transfer under the same terms and conditions.
Bheki Khanyile, who disappeared in education circles late last year after he admitted to lying about his qualifications, has resurfaced - this time at the High Court.
He is demanding that Ndabandaba should transfer him to Pietermaritzburg as he had promised.
Khanyile's job was worth about R350 000 a year.
He fell out with Premier Lionel Mtshali in August last year after rumours circulated that he had allegedly forged his Bachelor of Communications degree, purportedly from the University of Natal.
Mtshali then wrote to Ndabandaba about the termination of Khanyile's contract, advising the MEC that "it would be courteous to consult us (the Premier's office) on the appointment of ministerial staff to avoid future embarrassment".
"His (Khanyile) continued employment should be reviewed immediately," said Mtshali.
Ndabandaba then asked Khanyile to give him the degree certificate he had claimed to have in his CV, but the minister's efforts were in vain.
