“Impossible is a word created by pessimists”.
Good self-motivation for Michael Muller, who aced the 2010 matric exams achieving 10 distinctions - proof it was not impossible for him to be a top achiever.
A prefect at Hoërskool Zwartkop in Centurion, his average for the year was an impressive 93 percent.
Science and maths were his favourite subjects. “I like to read about science and expand my knowledge, hence my future intention to study chemical engineering and learn as much as possible,” he said.
History was also close to his heart and a subject he would like to pursue.
Which explains why Napoleon Bonaparte is one of Michael’s heroes.
“He was the best combination of intelligence and hard work combined with substantial leadership skills.” Between his studies and official duties, Michael also found time to play chess for the school’s A-team.
His secret to juggling all of his activities is to “be able to do anything, any time, to the best of my abilities”.
Therefore, he quipped, the worst advice he was ever given was to “calm down, everything will work out”. - Pretoria News
