Jakarta -
A small plane with two people on board crashed into a mountain in Indonesia's Papua province, a rescue official said on Thursday.
The PAC 750XL plane operated by a Christian foundation making missionary flights went missing on Wednesday, said Suyatno, the head of the search and rescue agency in the provincial capital, Jayapura.
Suyatno said rescuers had been sent to the location of the crash but bad weather was hampering the operation.
The fate of the pilot and a passenger on the plane was unknown.
Many places in jungle-clad Papua can only be reached by air, and plane accidents are common. - Sapa-dpa
