As the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup unfolds in the idyllic setting of Mahé, Seychelles, the event has become a vibrant tapestry woven with goals, camaraderie, and cultural celebration. The Paradise Arena has transformed into a bustling Fanzone, where the spirit of football meets the enchanting allure of this Indian Ocean archipelago, creating a memorable experience for both international visitors and enthusiastic local supporters.

Since its kick-off on 1 May, the tournament has been a spectacular showcase featuring 16 nations vying for glory on the sands of Seychelles. The enthusiasm is palpable, with an impressive total of approximately 7,000 fans attending daily, and nearly a third of that number—around 2,300 fans—actively engaging at the Fanzone. Tourism Seychelles has seized this opportunity, immersing fans in a “Paradise Experience” that embodies the islands' charm.

The atmosphere at the Fanzone has been significantly elevated by the presence of His Excellency President Wavel Ramkalawan, whose attendance has infused a sense of national pride into the festivities. Visitors are not merely spectators; they are participants in a cultural celebration that includes dynamic competitions, cultural showcases, and chances to win unique souvenirs at the Visit Seychelles stall, which has emerged as a lively hub of activity.

Local artisans, food vendors, and crafters have benefitted greatly from the event, showcasing traditional Seychellois cuisine alongside handcrafted jewellery and artisanal crafts. This vibrant marketplace not only provides a taste of local culture but also supports small businesses that thrive on the heightened footfall generated by this global event.

In a commendable effort to promote sustainability, the organisers have integrated eco-conscious initiatives throughout the Fanzone, including waste segregation stations, reusable cups, and eco-friendly merchandise. Information booths further educate attendees on Seychelles' conservation ethos, reaffirming the destination's long-standing commitment to sustainability—a message that resonates strongly with the globally aware visitors this tournament attracts.

The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup signifies a pivotal moment for Seychelles, being the first occasion the tournament is hosted in Africa. This stage offers Seychelles an unparalleled opportunity to leave a lasting impression on a diverse array of visitors. “This is my first time in this amazing country, and I’m absolutely loving it,” noted Pedro, a passionate fan from Portugal, reflecting the positive experiences many are having. “Hopefully, my team goes far so I can stay longer and soak it all in.”

Bernadette Willemin, Director General of Destination Marketing, spoke of this strategic engagement, noting the eclectic mix of attendees spanning all demographics, turning the event into a familial festivity. “We see grandmas, parents, and kids at the Fanzone,” she pointed out. “The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup is a family event for us.”

Relishing the opportunity to interact with visitors, Willemin highlighted the engaging pavilion where potential tourists can inquire about local attractions. This interaction is crucial for Seychelles, as it looks to promote its rich cultural heritage alongside its picturesque landscapes. “It’s a big party; fun and a great event. We showcase our local artisans' work, and it stirs curiosity,” she remarked, capturing the essence of the joyful atmosphere.

Local journalist Jana Malbrook echoed these sentiments, describing the excitement among fans: “FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2025 at Paradise Arena, Roche Caiman, has been pure island adrenaline—sun, sand, and non-stop epic entertainment!” Though the local team did not qualify for the tournament, their passionate support and vibrant spirit have enchanted attendees, enriching the overall experience of beach soccer on the islands.

As the tournament draws on, Seychelles continues to shine, showcasing not only its ability to host grand international events but also its intrinsic warmth, hospitality, and unique island charm, ensuring that every visitor departs with unforgettable memories and a longing to return.
