Radio veteran Ravi Naidoo joins award-winning radio station, Jacaranda FM from April 1, and, no, this is not an April Fool's Day joke.

Bringing with him nearly three decades of leadership experience in broadcasting, Naidoo will step into his role as the station's new programming and content manager.

He will take over from outgoing programming and content manager, Charlotte Kilbane, who has decided to pursue her passion for travel after a very successful tenure at the station.

Naidoo's illustrious career has traversed various facets of the media industry, including broadcasting, advertising and creative content development.

In the past, he has held positions such as station manager at 947 FM and chief creative officer. Most recently, he served as strategic business development lead at Time Out South Africa, focusing on enhancing content development and audience growth strategies.

Returning to the airwaves, Naidoo expressed his enthusiasm for rejoining Jacaranda FM, sharing: "Jacaranda FM is one of the country’s most iconic and influential radio stations and I am beyond excited to be joining such a powerhouse brand.

"Radio has always been my passion and I am thrilled to join the Jacaranda FM family, a station with an incredible connection to its audience and a reputation for delivering world-class content."

He said that he is looking forward to working alongside the talented team.

"I look forward to building on the station’s success and bringing even more engaging, dynamic programming to listeners," he said.

Under Kilbane’s leadership, the station reached remarkable heights, garnering awards and expanding its digital footprint.

Vuyani Dombo, acting managing director of Jacaranda FM, expressed mixed feelings about Kilbane's departure: "We are sad to bid farewell to Charlotte, who has been a dynamic and passionate member of the management team over the last two years.

"We are sure our paths will cross again and we send her off on her travels with our deep appreciation."

Dombo added: “Ravi’s extensive experience, deep industry knowledge and passion for radio make him the perfect fit for Jacaranda FM. His strategic vision and creative approach will undoubtedly elevate our programming even higher.
