A South African court has denied bail to Johannes Moolman, an 80-year-old farmer with multiple murder convictions who allegedly stole R7. 1 million in electricity and equipment. After being disconnected by Eskom in 2018, Moolman allegedly set up an illegal electricity network serving over 500 shack dwellers, charging them while paying nothing to the utility providers.
