The musical segment of the SAMAs was a vibrant celebration of South African music, taking audiences on a nostalgic journey through diverse genres—from pop and gospel to hip hop and the ever-popular amapiano.
Tyla, Kabza De Small and Mbuso Khoza received the most nominations for the 2024 SAMAs, which will take place at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand in November.
DJ PH and Shimza are going to take the party up a notch at the Channel O Dance Stage with their respective events properties.
The show was brought to life with performances from Kabza De Small’s collaborators such as; Njelic, Nobuhle, Mawhoo, DJ Maphorisa/Madumane, Masterpiece YVK, Sizwe Alakine, Young Stunna, Umthakathi Kush, Nkosazana Daughter and Daliwonga.
The king of amapiano’s release comes ahead of the first Red Bull Symphonic in South Africa with Ofentse Pitse and the Symphonic Orchestra.
If this is the future of award ceremonies in Mzansi entertainment, then organisers need to get to the drawing board quickly because in 2024, we can’t be having 2007 mistakes.
