Nobel laureates warn of global food security threat

More than 150 Nobel and World Food Prize laureates have signed an open letter calling for “moonshot” efforts to ramp up food production before an impending world hunger catastrophe. The letter, titled "Hunger’s Tipping Point: An Urgent Call to Transform Food and Nutrition Security," stated that 700 million people are food insecure and desperately poor, with about half that number not knowing where their next meal is coming from.
