Orlando township in Soweto seemed calm and quiet following an early morning taxi shooting.
Gauteng police spokesman Captain Kay Makhubele said that no one had been injured during the shooting but several taxis were damaged.

"We believe it is connected to fighting over routes," he explained.
Makhubele said they had arrested three people in connection with this morning's shooting.
"One person was arrested for malicious damage to property while two others were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms.
"This is a hotspot and we will continue to monitor the area closely," he said.
Traffic moved as normal and a taxi picked up several passengers despite remnants of shattered glass on Klipspruit Valley Road.
